Stonewall Chorale Presents 1-Night Only Immersive Concert with Avant-Garde Cellist MIZU

The Stonewall Chorale presents an immersive, highly theatrical & musical event that combines the 70-member mixed-voice Chorale, live cello, large-format video projections, and prerecorded atmospheric soundscapes. Led by Artistic Director Cynthia Powell, Stonewall is joined by its guest artist, the groundbreaking queer cellist/composer MIZU who explores identity and transformation through her original backing tracks and visuals, theatrical performance, and masterful instrumental technique. 

The Chorale, one of the nation’s leading LGBTQAI+ choruses, performs a collaborative work with MIZU, and exciting works scored specifically for cello and choir by renowned contemporary composers: Jake Runestad’s dramatic, animated Cello Songs;  evocative musical works by Ola Gjielo that transcend from stillness into the ecstasy of light and love; and Tõnu Kõrvits’ ethereal Reflections from a Plain.
