On Friday, July 10, Avery Wilson will take the Bryant Park Picnic Performances stage for a free outdoor concert showcasing his powerhouse vocals and dynamic artistry. Widely celebrated for his role as the Scarecrow in the smash-hit Broadway revival of The Wiz and its Grammy-nominated cast recording, Wilson has also made his mark as a solo recording artist, reaching the Top 20 on Billboard’s Hot R&B / Hip-Hop Songs chart and collaborating with music legends including Quincy Jones, Clive Davis, Babyface, Usher, and Christina Aguilera. With acclaimed performances alongside The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, Wilson brings his signature blend of R&B, soul, and show-stopping energy to Bryant Park for his headlining debut.
Bryant Park Picnic Performances, presented by Bank of America, the free outdoor performing arts festival in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, is underway for its largest season yet in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Running May 28 through September 11, this year’s lineup features 24 free performances spanning music, dance, opera, circus, and more, including collaborations with New York City Opera and Carnegie Hall, plus the festival’s first-ever Brass and Choir Festivals. The season continues to bring unforgettable summer performances to New Yorkers and visitors alike.
