
When Nicholas Sparks’ ‘The Notebook’ went on sale around the globe in 1996, thoughts crossed minds that Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ might run into trouble maintaining the top spot as the world’s most romantic story. Come 2004 - the release of the cult-classic film of the same name, and ‘Romeo and Juliet’ had to defend for all its worth for that top spot.
And now, just about twenty years later, ‘The Notebook’ is a musical, ingeniously adapted by Bekah Brunstetter and music and lyrics by Ingrid Michaelson, and ’The Notebook Musical’ has claimed the throne.
