Bryant Park’s Reading Room Hosts Poetry: Larry Levis Tribute with Debra Allbery and John Skoyles

Join us at Bryant Park's Reading Room on Tuesday, August 25, from 6:00–7:15 PM for a special Poetry Reading: Larry Levis Tribute featuring Debra Allbery and John Skoyles. On select evenings throughout the season, Bryant Park's Reading Room welcomes audiences to discover award-winning poetry from both established and emerging voices. This free event honors the legacy and enduring influence of acclaimed poet Larry Levis, whose work continues to resonate with generations of writers and readers. Through readings and conversation, Allbery and Skoyles—both accomplished poets, educators, and longtime contributors to the literary community—will explore Levis's work and the lasting impact of his distinctive voice on contemporary poetry. Books will be available for purchase during the event.
The Reading Room at Bryant Park is a free, open-air literary oasis in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM through October, it offers a thoughtfully curated selection of books, newspapers, and magazines for visitors to enjoy on the lawn beneath its signature yellow umbrellas or shaded trees. Now through September, the Reading Room offers a lineup of weekly literary programming, including author talks, poetry readings, film discussions, book clubs, and children’s StoryTime.
