Step into the world of Jane Austen during this immersive discussion celebrating her beloved classic and its unforgettable characters, hosted by Sarah Rose Kearns of the Jane Austen Society of North America – New York Metropolitan. Produced in partnership with Penguin Classics and Out of Print, attendees who sign up in advance at the Bryant Park Reading Room will receive a free copy of Persuasion while supplies last. This free event invites readers to rediscover one of Austen’s most enduring novels through lively conversation and shared appreciation.
The Reading Room at Bryant Park is a free, open-air literary oasis in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM through October, it offers a thoughtfully curated selection of books, newspapers, and magazines for visitors to enjoy on the lawn beneath its signature yellow umbrellas or shaded trees. Now through September, the Reading Room offers a lineup of weekly literary programming, including author talks, poetry readings, film discussions, book clubs, and children’s StoryTime.
