Bryant Park Reading Room Poetry Reading with Chelsea Whitton, Dilruba Ahmed, Matt Yaeger, & More

Event Details
Join us at Bryant Park's Reading Room on Tuesday, September 15, from 6:00–7:15 PM for a special Poetry Reading featuring Chelsea Whitton, Dilruba Ahmed, Matthew Yeager, and Sahar Muradi. As part of Bryant Park's ongoing poetry series, this free evening brings together four accomplished poets whose widely published work spans themes of identity, family, culture, memory, love, and the complexities of contemporary life. Featuring award-winning authors, fellowship recipients, and poets whose work has appeared in Best American Poetry, The New York Times Magazine, American Poetry Review, Kenyon Review, and Ploughshares, each poet brings a distinctive voice and perspective to the stage. From Whitton’s recently published Wonder Wheel and Ahmed’s award-winning Dhaka Dust to Muradi’s Donald Hall Prize-winning OCTOBERS and Yeager’s acclaimed Like That, the evening celebrates the breadth and vitality of contemporary poetry.
The Reading Room at Bryant Park is a free, open-air literary oasis in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM through October, it offers a thoughtfully curated selection of books, newspapers, and magazines for visitors to enjoy on the lawn beneath its signature yellow umbrellas or shaded trees. Now through September, the Reading Room offers a lineup of weekly literary programming, including author talks, poetry readings, film discussions, book clubs, and children’s StoryTime.
