Join us at Bryant Park's Reading Room on Saturday, September 19, from 10:30 AM–2:30 PM for the 8th Bryant Park Crossword Tournament, a free outdoor competition for crossword lovers of all skill levels. Test your puzzle-solving skills on three original puzzles by crossword guru Mike Shenk, with scoring based on accuracy and speed. Compete solo or team up with a friend in the Pairs division, with the top three individual solvers advancing to the final round. Prizes will be awarded across all divisions, with the tournament facilitated by crossword experts Amy Goldstein of Puzzability and Mike Shenk, The Wall Street Journal's puzzle editor. Registration is recommended. For pairs, each member of the pair must complete registration individually.
The Reading Room at Bryant Park is a free, open-air literary oasis in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM through October, it offers a thoughtfully curated selection of books, newspapers, and magazines for visitors to enjoy on the lawn beneath its signature yellow umbrellas or shaded trees. Now through September, the Reading Room offers a lineup of weekly literary programming, including author talks, poetry readings, film discussions, book clubs, and children’s StoryTime.
