Girl Vow’s Annual Candlelight Vigil for Missing and Murdered Women and Girls

Girl Vow Inc. (Girl Vow), a non-profit launched to address the gender specific needs of disadvantaged girls, femmes, and gender-expansive youth in New York through mentorship, education, and community engagement, will honor the victims of gender-based violence during their Annual Candlelight Vigil for missing and murdered New York City women and girls. Joining together for the fifth year, Girl Vow aims to honor the lives behind the statistics, push for tangible change, and hear from survivors and impacted families. Names of those impacted will be read aloud along with a dove release.

The annual vigil will also feature its signature mannequins, used to represent missing and murdered women and girls of color, to bring attention to the severity of the crisis, to help humanize those who are missing, and to push both the public and authorities to act on a local and national level.
