Tourisme Montréal brings a taste of the city to New York with a public exhibition of “All the Restaurants: Montréal” by acclaimed illustrator John Donohue. NYC’s beloved bakery, L’Appartement 4F will showcase several of Donohue’s hand-drawn portraits of Montréal’s most beloved restaurants, bars and cafés.
Designed as a visual love letter to the city, “All the Restaurants: Montréal” — the first Canadian collection from Donohue — encourages travelers to discover its beloved institutions (like St-Viateur Bagel, celebrating 70 years in 2027) and rising culinary scene as it earns growing international acclaim, with an expanding roster of MICHELIN-recognized restaurants and a growing presence among North America’s 50 Best Restaurants. The featured drawings will be available for purchase both online and at L’Appartement 4F during the exhibition, with proceeds benefiting NYC hunger-relief organization City Harvest.
Enhancing the exhibit viewing experience, the Brooklyn outpost will also serve a limited-edition, custom financier au thé des bois, a wintergreen tea financier, created in collaboration with Montréal culinary icon Chef Normand Laprise of Restaurant Toqué. As an edible expression of the Québec province’s landscape and the ingredients that have long informed its culinary heritage, the special pastry being served at L’Appartement 4F thoughtfully centers around wintergreen, a fragrant wild plant native to the region’s boreal forests and long used by its Indigenous communities.
