Career-Oriented Summer Programs Return to NYIT
Four career-focused summer programs are on offer for area high school and early college students.

New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) will again offer summer programs for area high school and early college students looking to explore hands-on professions like architecture, video game design, or engineering. The programs are formally known as NYIT Academy and are based at NYIT’s New York City campus at Columbus Circle. Session lengths vary from one to four weeks, and students who would like an away-from-home experience can opt for “Campus Life Immersion.”
The following summer programs are accepting applications:
- Exploring Architecture in Manhattan (July 8 to August 2; NYIT School of Architecture and Design; 3 college credits). Experience four weeks of architecture immersion, including studio design activities, field trips, and lectures.
- Graphic Design and 3-D Animation/Game Design (July 8 to July 26; NYIT College of Arts and Sciences; 1 credit per week). This workshop, which can last one to three weeks, will help you build your digital portfolio with projects in 3-D printing, photography, illustration, 3-D animation, and more.
- Modern New York (July 8 to July 19; NYIT College of Arts and Sciences; 3 credits). Explore what makes the city tick while learning about its history, design, public policies, business, and media in this immersive seminar.
- Technology and Engineering Experience (July 22 to August 2; NYIT College of Engineering and Computing Sciences; 2 credits). Tackle hands-on projects in robotics, 3-D printing, and other tasks related to careers in technology, engineering, and computer science.
