Centers Health Care Continues Heroic Ice Cream Summer Outings in 2022
Health Care Workers at Hospitals and at Other Clinical Institutions are Treated with Free Ice Cream Throughout the Summer

Over the past few years, ice cream and donut trucks have parked outside of New York City hospitals and at other various medical centers, all designed to treat the staff to free ice cream and tasty donuts. Beginning in the early summer of 2020 which was the first few months of the COVID-19 pandemic, this gesture was meant to say thank you for the hard work health care staff have done to keep us all safe from the deadly virus.

Centers Health Care, one of the leaders in post-acute care throughout the northeast, began this program back in June of that year where donut trucks would kick off the summer and then ice cream would take over as the months turned more summer-like in the city.

Since the company has fifty facilities throughout the northeast and midwest (where 14 are located in the five boroughs), these ice cream events pop up where the company has locations such as in Kansas, Southern New Jersey, Rhode Island, Buffalo, Rochester, the Capital region, the Adirondacks region, Long Island and throughout the Hudson Valley.

"This idea may have been born out of the COVID-19 pandemic, but since the company began more than 25 years ago, we have always been highly appreciative of our brothers and sisters who are employed at hospitals everywhere," said Steve Carr, Chief Sales Officer at Centers Health Care. "From the nurses, physicians, rehab therapists, social workers, and the support staff, it is a team effort on their part to keep us all safe and it is this kind of conglomerate that we follow in the care that we provide to seniors and others who are faced with a number of physical and psychological challenges."

In addition to the ice cream that is enjoyed by the healthcare workers, the company gives out information on some of the latest offerings being given to their patients. Some of this information has to do with Centers Health Care's 2022 program called Care That Moves You which is geared toward driving their residents to a better tomorrow through rehabilitation and professional nursing care in order to either get them home and be with their families. It is also geared to long-term residents in order to keep them safe and healthy.
