Championing Diversity in FinTech: NYC Based DailyPay

DIVERSE EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUPS HELP DRIVE LEADING NYC- BASED FINTECH COMPANY FORWARD

A leading fintech company’s rise to success and rapid expansion has been fueled in part by the success of its diverse Employee Resource Groups. DailyPay, the leading provider of the on-demand pay benefit, has been a driving force in revolutionizing the antiquated way the American worker gets paid. But ever since its inception, the organization has prioritized a diverse workforce which has opened the company up to new ideas and perspectives leading to new customers and opportunities.

The first Employee Resource Group (ERG) - DailyWomen - was formed back in 2016 when the company had just 22 employees and was in early development stages. Jeanniey Walden (formerly Jeanniey Mullen) later joined the three-person C-Suite as Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer.

The DailyWomen ERG It kicked off the start of several other Employee Resource Groups at DailyPay.

Just a year later, DailyGay Resource Group was formed followed by DailyNoire in 2019.

DailyGay was formed to promote a work environment that values and promotes openness, tolerance and understanding. This group strives to strengthen and broaden relationships among LGBTQIA+ team members, their allies and the organization at large through sustained, healthy and supportive dialogue.

DailyNoire was formed to support an inclusive environment and be a resource and advocate for the employees at DailyPay a part of the Black diaspora. The DailyNoire Employee Resource Group for African American/Black employees works to create an inclusive environment for all African American/Black employees at DailyPay via diverse initiatives, networking, cultural events and social gatherings. The group’s goal is to bring awareness to African American/Black issues and to create an inclusive environment for employees and allies to thrive as professionals.
Today, with over 200 employees, DailyPay has created an infrastructure whereby all voices can be heard and new ideas are valued. The company’s Diversity Leadership Committee has led and supported these three distinctive Employee Resource Groups and empowered them to keep innovating and evolving.


In commemoration of Juneteenth, DailyPay CEO, Jason Lee, wrote in a letter to employees: “Ever since we opened our doors four years ago, we have intentionally and methodically been building our company’s culture - a culture that not only prioritizes diversity, but one that understands and deeply internalizes that diversity is both a core value of how we work and one of our key competitive advantages”
