Changes To NYC Sanitation Collection And Alternate Side Parking

Residents with Monday service should set out materials Monday evening for Tuesday pickup, city sanitation officials said.

NEW YORK, NY— The New York City Department of Sanitation will suspend trash, curbside composting and recycling collection on Presidents’ Day on Monday. Alternate side parking rules will also be suspended for the holiday.

Residents who normally receive Monday sanitation service may place materials at the curb Monday evening for collection beginning Tuesday.

The department said collection delays may occur following holidays and recent winter storms as crews work through backlogs.

Although Thursday is recognized by the city as Lincoln’s Birthday and is typically a sanitation holiday, officials said regular collection will take place that day because of the recent storm.

Residents with Thursday service should follow their normal set-out schedule.
