If money is truly no object, check out the Mark Hotel’s “Holiday Penthouse Spectacular.”
For $175,000, you get a two-night stay in the largest hotel suite in the country, as the Mark Hotel boasts.
The holiday offer includes a private skating rink on a 2,500-square-foot terrace, a four-course holiday feast by Jean-Georges, a family photo session by fashion photographer Alexei Hay, an in-suite “Nutcracker” performance, a private hot chocolate stand by Laduree, an after-hours “shopping spree” at Bergdorf Goodman, a private viewing of an unreleased blockbuster movie and music by a Juilliard-trained pianist.
Round trip airport transfers, whether by car or helicopter, a private butler and nanny and fitness and spa services are also included.
It’s not the only hotel offering a special holiday package.
The Baccarat Hotel offers a “Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Shopping Experience,” combining a stay at the luxury hotel with shopping at the famed store.
The hotel doesn’t advertise a price, but the deal includes a “personal shopping experience,” a private tour of holiday windows, $100 in room dining credit and a $500 Saks Fifth Avenue gift card.
Holiday Experiences
Few places in New York City are as iconic during the holidays than the Rockefeller Center.
If you’re rich and madly in love, you can shell out $1,300 for the Rock’s “Private Proposal” package and make the famed skating rink yours for when you pop the question.
The package lets you rent out the rink, bring 10 of your family and friends and set the playlist so you know exactly when to skate to one knee.
If she said “yes” — and with indoor dining out of the question in New York City — you’re going to want to feed your skating-turned-wedding party.
For $700, Cote Korean Steakhouse has you covered. Their “Holiday Feast with Dom Perignon” feeds up to six people (so you mighty want to order two) and is delivered to your home.
The meal includes one 10-pound roasted prime rib rack, sticky rice “stuffing with dried shiitakes, chestnuts and Chinese sausage, maple-bacon Brussels sprouts and more. All of it is paired with Dom Perignon champagne, the “only wine that pairs with literally anything,” the offer states.
You could also hire a personal chef like Lena Goldin, who’ll craft a meal specially for you. Prices for such chefs vary, but often start in four figures.
Gifts
Looking for a small gift, a stocking stuffer perhaps, that’ll break the bank?
Tiffany & Co. has you covered with their “Everyday Objects” collections. You can buy a $525 “Nickel Twin Bell Alarm Clock” or a $275,000 “Sterling Silver Greenhouse” that’s small enough to fit on a desk or table.
Or perhaps you want a $2,750 “Travel Poker Set” with chips in the jeweler’s signature blue.
Sure, those gifts are a little grown up. For youngsters with refined tastes, why not go over to FAO Schwarz and plop down $300 for a toy BMW much like the one they’ll be asking for sooner than you think.
If that’s not pricey or sparkly enough, the $4,500 “Ultra Premium Swarovski Nutcracker” statuette more than fits the bill. Sale of special items like this raise cash for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the toy store said.
