NEW YORK CITY--Fashion's biggest night out brought the stars to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Monday night for the Met Gala. The celebrities climbed the iconic stairs while showcasing their couture for the Costume Institute’s Spring 2026 exhibition, "Costume Art." The exhibit examines the importance of the dressed body by displaying select outfits from the vast collection of the Costume Institute and works of art within the MET.

Many of the celebrities, models, musicians and athletes who attended wore Grecian-inspired couture as a nod to the art on display. Some Greek looks included Anne Hathaway in Michael Kors, Doja Cat in Saint Laurent, and Kendall Jenner in Gap by Zac Posen.

The night's most worn designers included Saint Laurent, Robert Wun, Chanel and Prada. Many other designers were inspired by famous Met paintings, creating their own takes on costume art, including Met co-chair Lauren Sanchez Bezos. Bezos wore a Schiaparelli gown inspired by painter John Singer Sargent's "Portrait of Madame X."

Others interpreted the theme in other ways. Christian Siriano styled Janelle Monae in a fashionable high-tech outfit, and J.W. Anderson dressed Sabrina Carpenter in a constructed dress made of film strips from the Audrey Hepburn film "Sabrina."

Make sure to check out the fashion exhibit, which will be open to the public from May 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027.
