NEW YORK CITY — Mayor Bill de Blasio is leading a race to the bottom of the barrel, according to a new poll.

De Blasio's favorability rating among New York voters is lower than two politicians widely seen as disgraced — former President Donald Trump and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the Siena College poll found.

"Former President Donald Trump has long been the pol with the lowest favorability rating among New York voters. No more," the poll states.

"Trump has a 37-59 percent favorability rating, net 22 points negative. Cuomo is 33-60 percent, net 27 points negative. And de Blasio is 25-56 percent, net 31 points negative."

The poll paints a grim picture of de Blasio's hopes to run for governor after his term ends this year.

Current Gov. Kathy Hochul leads prospective Democratic primary candidates with 31 percent support of registered voters polled, according to the study.

Cuomo carries 17 percent support, followed by two New York City-based pols — Attorney General Letitia James and city Public Advocate Jumaane Williams at 14 percent and 7 percent, respectively.

De Blasio polled at 6 percent, according to the poll. He did slightly — 10 percent — better if Cuomo was excluded, but still fell far behind Hochul and James.

The mayor brushed off the poll results during his daily briefing.

"I have a long, rich history of being an underdog," he said. "I have seen polls like that literally every time I've run for office. If I'd worry about stuff like that, I wouldn't be sitting in this chair right now."

But the poll still signals that de Blasio, despite signs over the summer his public image could turn around, remains unpopular with a wide swath of voters.

His favorability is lower than Trump's, who sparked an insurrection and continues to spread lies about his decisive defeat in the 2020 Election. Trump yet again drew controversy Tuesday after he slammed Colin Powell, who died Monday from COVID-19 complications amid a fight against cancer.

"He was a classic RINO, if even that, always being the first to attack other Republicans," Trump said in a statement. "He made plenty of mistakes, but anyway, may he rest in peace!"

De Blasio's favorability is also lower than his long-time rival Cuomo, who resigned after a sexual harassment scandal and amid swirling controversy over how he handled nursing home deaths during the coronavirus pandemic.
