Dionne Warwick, Jon Secada to Headline Carnegie Hall Benefit for ALS Research
Jazz vocalist Deborah Silver brings together an extraordinary lineup of talent for one-night event
Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Deborah Silver will bring together an extraordinary lineup of talent at Carnegie Hall this fall for Deborah Silver & Fabulous Friends: Voices for ALS, a benefit concert taking place Sunday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall. Produced by Scott Stander, the one-night event will direct 100% of ticket proceeds to ALS research.
Headlining the evening is music icon Dionne Warwick, joined by three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Jon Secada and his daughter, Broadway performer Mikaela Secada. Social media jazz sensation Stella Cole rounds out the bill, adding a rising digital-era voice to a lineup spanning generations of American music.
Silver, known for her #1 Billboard chart-topping jazz albums, has recorded duets with artists including Bill Medley, Jack Jones, Freddy Cole, Ann Hampton Callaway, Ronnie Milsap, Pam Tillis and Steve Tyrell, and recently released "The Lady Is A Tramp" with Diane Schuur.

The cause is personal for Silver, whose sister has lived with ALS for 18 years. "This concert comes from a deeply personal place," she said. "My family and I know firsthand that ALS doesn't affect only the person living with the disease—it touches everyone who loves them."
On her collaborators, Silver said: "Ms. Warwick's voice is part of the soundtrack of our lives. Jon's voice has moved audiences for decades, and watching him share the stage with his daughter is going to be truly unforgettable. Stella Cole represents this wonderful new generation keeping the Great American Songbook alive."

"This isn't just about performing at Carnegie Hall," she added. "It's about using that stage to shine a light on ALS. If our music can help bring us even one step closer to a cure, then every note we sing will have a purpose."
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, remains without a cure. Benefit concerts such as this one aim to fund research while raising public awareness of the disease's impact on patients and families alike.
Deborah Silver & Fabulous Friends: Voices for ALS takes place Sunday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, 881 Seventh Avenue, New York City.
