Summer temperatures have been mild compared to late June, when days of extended excessive heat prompted city officials to ask New Yorkers to reduce their power consumption or risk a citywide power outage.

Storms this week are predicted to roll into the city, along with the heat and humidity. Each day from Monday to Friday carries a chance of thunderstorms, according to the forecast.
