Excessive Heat Warning Blankets NYC For 2 Days
Heat indices over Wednesday and Thursday could reach as high as the "dangerously hot" 107 degrees, the warning states.

NEW YORK CITY — "Dangerously hot" weather threatens to visit New York City, forecasters warn.
An excessive heat warning will be in effect Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning on both days covers the hours between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m., when high temperatures and humidity will combine to create dangerous heat indices.

"For the first Excessive Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105 expected," the warning states. "For the second Excessive Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 107 expected."
City officials will open cooling centers across the five boroughs to help people beat the heat.
