Governors Ball 2019: Schedule, Lineup, Transportation, Weather
Here's everything you need to know if you're attending The Governors Ball Music Festival this year.
NEW YORK, NY — Summer festival season is officially underway as the annual Governors Ball returns to Randall's Island Friday, May 31.
What started as a small concert series on Governors Island in 2011 has turned into an action packed, three-day music festival that draws some of the biggest names in the industry. The event has grown in size so much that it had to relocate from its original location to the more spacious Randall's Island.
The festival experience transcends music by incorporating such activities as interactive photo booths, life-sized board games and installments of New York City street art.

Getting to Governors Ball:
Most people don't go to Randall's Island very often, so getting there can be tricky.
Take the 4,5 or 6 to 125th street and then hop on the X80 bus at 125th and Lexington Avenue. The X80 bus will take you directly to the festival, but please keep in mind that the bus collects a $6.75 round trip fare. It only costs $4 if you come from the subway though. Monthly MetroCards do not work on the bus so please be ready with a regular MetroCard.
Festival Ferries will be traveling to and from the event every 15 minutes throughout the day starting at 11 a.m. The ferry landing is located at East 35th Street at FDR drive. Ferries to the island will stop at 9 p.m. There are a limited amount of ferry tickets available and purchase information is here.
Brooklyn Shuttle, the festival shuttle bus, will pick up in front of the Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg. A limited amount of tickets are available for the shuttle, see here.
