As we all know, New York is one of the greatest places in the world for museums and cultural events. Whether you’re looking for a day out to see post-modernist paintings, a chance to explore a children’s museum, or the opportunity to see ancient artifacts, New York has it all. All you have to do is consider what your interests are and start to look for museums and other cultural venues that fit your needs. Here we explore a few options, and exhibits that are currently taking place.

Currently, at the Museum of Arts and Design you can enjoy Beth Lipman: Collective Elegy. This exhibit is dedicated to Lipman’s work and is the first scholarly assessment of her career. It includes a decade of her work which explores issues or mortality, temporality and identity through glass, metal, clay, video and photography and will be open until January 2, 2022.

For those who love fashion, the Brooklyn Museum is currently host to Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams. This exhibit takes viewers through the history of the House of Dior and includes both fabulous garments and sketches, accessories and photographs of the creative process. You can enjoy it until February 20, 2022.

Another location to enjoy the best that New York has to offer is at the Whitney Museum of Art. There is always something new and exciting happening at the Whitney and right now, in collaboration with Hudson River Park, they have created a permanent public art project by David Hammons. Entitled Day’s End, you can find the installation at the Hudson River Park near the southern edge of Gansevoort Peninsula—it enables people to enjoy the waterfront in a new way.

And, of course, for a totally different experience there is the Museum of Ice Cream in New York City. They explain on their website that they are “providing fun, multi-sensorial expressions of ice cream that cater to the appetites of our generation.” As Business Insider said, “Museum of Ice Cream is a Willy Wonka Factory come to life that you won’t want to leave.”

These are just a few of the many examples of cultural opportunities around New York at the moment. There is an endless supply of ways to enjoy the art, scenery and beauty of New York – you just have to inquire into the opportunities that are available and seize the day to enjoy them.
