HS Students to Learn Hands-On Tech at NYIT Summer Academy

Students from around the city will get hands-on experience with a range of technology experiments at NYIT, starting July 23.

High school students from around New York City will spend two weeks this summer running lab-based experiments in coding, gaming, robotics, 3-D printing, and more at NYIT’s tech-centric summer program, “Technology and Engineering Experience,” starting July 23 at 10 am.

Students interested in tech careers can still enroll at NYIT's website. Those who complete the program earn two academic credits and experiences they can mention on college applications.

Nico Brancato, a Brooklyn high school student who participated in 2017, said, “I would definitely advise students interested in STEM to look into a college STEM program over the summer. My experience at NYIT helped prepare me for the ‘real world’ and taught me how to work with a team, not just independently. These are vital characteristics that an engineer must possess in order to get the job done right.”

Brancato added, “Every day allowed my passion for STEM to grow more and more.”
