Hurricane Harvey: Westlake School Collects Donations

Nine hundred pounds of food, diapers and other necessities have been collected for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

From Westlake City School District: The Dover Intermediate School Service Club (DISC), in partnership with the Westlake Recreation Center, Westlake Porter Public Library and SJT Enterprises Inc., collected 900 pounds of food, diapers and other necessities for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

DISC, organized by parents Dawn Evans and Ginny Krouse, collected more than 2,000 diapers. Other items collected included cleaning products, garbage bags, canned foods, paper goods, bug spray and snacks.

SJT Enterprises collected all of the items and prepared them for shipping. PartnerShip LLC of Westlake donated a truck and shipping costs to get the relief items to the Houston Food Bank in Texas recently.
