JFK Airport Reopens After Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation

The incident happened at Terminal 4.

NEW YORK CITY — Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport was evacuated Friday morning after a person claimed to have a bomb in their luggage.

The incident happened around 7:45 a.m.

According to Port Authority police, a woman allegedly told an airline worker that she had a bomb in her luggage.

The NYPD Bomb Squad responded to the scene and later determined that the bag was not hazardous.

The terminal has since reopened and normal operations have resumed.

The woman was taken into custody after the incident.
