Job creators need relief from skyrocketing hospital prices

The Fair Pricing Act would help my staff afford care

Rising healthcare costs have created major challenges for my business. Only one-third of my staff have enrolled in our health plan because of affordability concerns. Instead, many of them obtain health coverage through their spouse, parents or the individual Affordable Care Act marketplace because the traditional small group market is too expensive.

This impacts hiring, growth and ability to offer our employees competitive benefits. That’s why I support the Fair Pricing Act. This bill would help control rising hospital prices by ensuring that hospitals couldn’t charge more for certain procedures than what it would cost for the same procedure at a doctor’s office.

Job creators and our employees both need relief from skyrocketing healthcare costs. I urge New York policymakers to support the Fair Pricing Act and take an important step toward creating a more affordable and equitable healthcare system for the small business community.
