Local Event: Térapy Ceylon Joins NYFW 2025 as Gifting Partner
The luxury ayurveda tea brand will be given to designers, models and cultural tastemakers at New York Fashion Week, powered by Runway 7

As New York Fashion Week returns to New York City this Sept. 10–14, the runways won’t be the only place where cultural expression takes shape. Térapy Ceylon, a tea company rooted in Sri Lanka’s centuries-old tea traditions and Ayurveda, will be featured as part of Runway 7’s lineup of fashion and lifestyle collaborations.
The brand, headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, blends Ceylon tea with herbs long used in Ayurvedic practices, such as gotukola, ranawara and blue butterfly pea. At Fashion Week, its teas will be distributed to designers, models and attendees, placing a piece of Sri Lankan heritage in front of an international audience.
New York Fashion Week, one of the most high-profile events in the city’s cultural calendar, has increasingly become a stage for more than fashion. In recent years, wellness, sustainability and global culture have become recurring themes alongside traditional showcases of design. By featuring a Sri Lankan tea brand, organizers highlight how rituals of self-care intersect with style and creativity.

Ceylon tea, first cultivated in the 19th century, is exported worldwide and prized for its distinctive flavor profiles. Ayurveda, a 3,000-year-old system of medicine from South Asia, has also shaped the way herbs and plants are used for wellness across Sri Lanka. Térapy Ceylon brings these traditions together in blends that attempt to merge history with modern consumption.
Founder Ruvinika Ranasinghe said the Fashion Week invitation represents an opportunity to share Sri Lanka’s story in a new context. “Ayurveda has always celebrated balance, beauty and vitality,” Ranasinghe said. “By bringing these herbs into a global setting, we’re sharing a tradition that has shaped our culture for generations.”

For Ranasinghe, appearing at Fashion Week is less about product placement than cultural presence. As New York audiences encounter Sri Lankan tea within a setting known for its global reach, the connection between heritage and modern lifestyle takes on new visibility.
The inclusion of Térapy Ceylon reflects a larger trend at New York Fashion Week: a willingness to blur the lines between fashion, art, wellness and global identity.
