Look: Chalk Art Contest Winners
These are the winners of the Chocolate and Chalk Art Festival in the Gourmet Ghetto.
From Another Bullwinkle Show: Congratulations to Amanda Hareskog who chalked her way into First Place at the Chalk Art Contest last week during the Chocolate and Chalk Art Festival in the Gourmet Ghetto. Her 3-D art piece, The Battle of The Chocolate, depicts a green-horned monster popping out of the sidewalk, to steal a chocolate stash from four sword-wielding, chocolate-loving mice.
The Second Place winners are Or Oppenheimer & Eliana Greenberg who together, created another 3-D piece, Octopus.Submerged just below the surface of the sidewalk, it appears to be waiting to snatch any chocolate out of the hands of passers-by.
The Mad Hatter by Natasha Robinson took third place in the contest. This classic illustration takes a bit of a turn when chocolate is placed on the table before Alice, the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter at the tea party.

Winners took home cash prizes courtesy of The Coder School in Berkeley while ten runners up were awarded Books Inc. gift cards.
The festival took place on the same day as protests occurred in Downtown Berkeley. As an alternative to attending those protests, the community was encouraged to draw their politics on the sidewalks at the festival. One of the sections that may be viewed online is Berkeley Stands United-The Community Responds in Chalk Art.

While festival attendees were sampling delicious chocolate morsels in the existing businesses such as chocolate profiteroles, habañero chocolate gelato, Oreo shakes, or chicken mole, they strolled through the district enjoying more original chalk art, music and crafts.
Sponsored by the North Shattuck Association and produced by Another Bullwinkel Show, the event is now in it’s 19th year. Photos of all of the winners may be viewed at www.AnotherBullwinkelShow.com and honorable mentions are on the Chocolate and Chalk Art Facebook page.
