Upper West Side Man, 75, Jumps to Death From Apartment Window: Police

An unidentified 75-year-old man jumped Monday from the window of his eighth-floor apartment on West 103rd Street.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man jumped to his death Monday morning from an Upper West Side apartment building, police told Patch.

A 75-year-old man leapt from the window of his eighth-floor apartment, located at 308 W. 103rd St. between Riverside Drive and West End Avenue, around 8:30 a.m., police said. First responders declared the man dead on arrival at St. Luke's hospital, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

The building's super told the New York Daily News that the man was a retired photographer and that his wife was inside the apartment when he jumped.

“He lived in building for long time,” the anonymous super told the Daily News. “His wife is not going to be happy. I’m sorry it happened right before holidays.”
