Group Attacks NYPD Officers After Being Asked To Put Out Cigarettes
When police attempted to remove the individuals from the subway station, the group began to attack, police said. One man remains at large.

NEW YORK CITY — Three men attacked two uniformed NYPD officers at a Bronx subway station Monday after being asked to extinguish lit cigarettes, authorities said.
The attack took place about 2:30 p.m. inside the Freeman Street 2 and 5 train station near Southern Boulevard, police said.
When officers attempted to remove the individuals from the station after they refused to put out the lit cigarettes, the group began to fight the officers, police said.

Two of the three men were arrested at the scene. One remains at large, police said.
The officers suffered minor injuries and were later treated by medics at the station, police said.
