NEW YORK CITY — A man raped a woman at knifepoint in an apartment building elevator near the Bronx Zoo, police said.

Elevator surveillance video released by the NYPD shows the chilling moment Monday about 10 p.m. that a masked, bespectacled man pulls out a knife and corners a woman, 40.

The man had followed the woman into the elevator inside the Pelham Parkway building near Bolton Street and Lydig Avenue, authorities said. Once inside, video shows him pressing buttons before he pulls out a short knife and turns it toward the woman.
