Man Slashed Outside NYC Store, Suspect Still At Large

NEW YORK CITY — A man was slashed outside a popular clothing and skateboard brand store in Lower Manhattan Friday morning, police said.

The incident happened outside the Palace Skateboard Apparel shop on Howard Street around 11 a.m.

The 30-year-old security guard was standing outside the store when he was slashed in the neck by an unidentified suspect.

The slashing was first reported by the New York Post.

According to police and the report, the suspect apparently tried to cut the line that had formed outside the store and when confronted by the security guard he cut the victim in the neck.

The 30-year-old man was taken to Bellevue Hospital for his injuries and is expected to survive.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants and a black hat. He fled the scene is a car, police said.

No arrests have been made. An investigation remains ongoing.
