Man Struck By NYC Subway Train After Medical Episode, Police Say
The collision caused "severe delays" on the 2 and 5 lines Monday morning, among other rush hour hiccups, according to the MTA.

NEW YORK CITY — A man was struck by a 2 train in The Bronx after he leaned into the subway car's path, police said.
The collision Monday morning sent the straphanger — identified as a man in his 40s — to a hospital in stable condition and caused "severe delays" on the 2 and 5 lines, NYPD and MTA officials said.
The man apparently suffered a medical episode that caused him to lean over a platform edge at the Third Avenue-149th Street station, just as a 2 train rolled up, police said.

The incident unfolded about 7 a.m. and delays persisted on the 2 and 5 lines hours later, according to MTA posts.
Trains along the 2 line, along with the 3, were further delayed by someone needing medical attention at Clark Street, a switch problem at 96th Street and a train with a door problem at Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum station, MTA posts state.

Other subway lines that saw delays during Monday's rush hour for the F and 7, posts state. Both were caused by medics responding to people in need of help.
F trains headed north were further delayed because of crew shortages, a tweet states.
"We're running as much service as we can with the train crews we have available," the tweet states.
