Man In Work Vest Robs Upper West Side Bank, Police Say
The man fled the bank with an unknown amount of money after slipping the teller a note.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Police are trying to identify a man who robbed an Upper West Side bank Saturday while wearing what's either an intricate disguise or his regular work uniform.
The man entered a Santander Bank branch on Broadway and West 103rd Street around 1:20 p.m. and approached a bank teller, police said. The suspect then slipped the teller a note demanding money, police told Patch. The teller complied and the man ended up fleeing the store with an unknown amount of cash, police told Patch.
Nobody was injured during the robbery, police said.

Where things get interesting is the robber's choice of outfit. The suspect — who stands 6-feet-tall, has long dark hair and is likely in his 30s — was wearing a neon work vest, a tan fisherman hat and a tan shirt at the time of the robbery, police said. A neon vest doesn't scream "discrete," which begs the question of whether this bank robbery was planned or whether the suspect had a few minutes to kill during his lunch break.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) y 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) para Español.
