New York Cares joins 9/11 Day for Four-Day Event Aboard The Intrepid

In observance of the 25th anniversary of September 11, New York Cares will once again partner with 9/11 Day for a powerful four-day meal-packing event aboard the Intrepid, turning a day of remembrance into action.

Together with organizations from across New York City, participants will help pack more than 3,000,000 meals for New Yorkers facing food insecurity. More than 1,000 New York Cares volunteers will support the meal-packing operation in active roles that keep the event moving, including orienting volunteer teams, managing check-in and directing participants, resupplying packing tables, and loading completed meal boxes onto pallets.

The event is designed as a tribute to unity, resilience, and compassion. No prior experience is required, though volunteers should be comfortable with a physical, active project.
