New York City Real Estate Experts Weigh In on State of the Industry
Top performers at Sothebys, Douglas Elliman and Related Cos. join HGAR, OneKey MLS and TitleVest to share best practices
Top minds in New York City real estate came together at Chelsea’s High Line Nine last week to discuss industry trends, analyze the data and look ahead to what’s in store for the luxury residential market in 2023. “Be Your Best – The Keys to Prosperity” was presented Nov. 2 by the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors, Inc. (HGAR), OneKey® MLS and TitleVest and offered an in-depth look at the market that included top trends and predictions for Q4 and beyond.
“Economic downturns offer windows of opportunity for those who are nimble and who are prepared to act,” said Richard Haggerty, CEO, HGAR, and president and chief strategic growth officer, OneKey® MLS, the regional multiple listing service for New York.
“Now is the time to hone your skills, reconnect with past clients, focus on professionalism, and develop a concrete roadmap to navigate choppy market conditions,” Haggerty said.

Haggerty was joined by Brian Tormey, president of TitleVest, a leading NYC-based provider of title insurance and related real estate services. The presentation included a look back at some of the most popular “Be Your Best” events, which feature leading New York real estate and market professionals offering insight to help Realtors and agents get deals done. HGAR and OneKey® MLS launched “Be Your Best” as a virtual series during the pandemic to help colleagues navigate the changing landscape.
The program also featured Nikki Field, senior global real estate advisor and associate broker, Sotheby’s International Realty; Holly Parker, licensed associate real estate broker, Douglas Elliman Real Estate; and Sherry Tobak, senior vice president, The Related Companies. World renowned wellness icon and feng-shui expert Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha performed a live Tao Calligraphy demonstration and advised the brokers on how to improve their awe-inspiring listings ranging from 35 Hudson Yards, to a Park Avenue penthouse and a Versace-style Upper East Side mansion – from a feng shui perspective.
