New York City School Closings For Feb. 9 Snowstorm

NEW YORK, NY — New York City public schools and a host of other area schools will be closed Thursday, in anticipation of a snowstorm is expected to dump as much as a foot of snow on the city.

Additionally, all New York Public Library and Brooklyn Public Library branches will be closed, the systems announced Monday evening.

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio made the announcement about the city's public schools at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Twitter.
