New York’s NoMad Piazza Grows In Popularity and Size
NoMad Piazza, a popular pedestrian and outdoor dining venue born out of the city's Open Streets initiative, expands north
NoMad Piazza, a popular pedestrian venue in Manhattan on Broadway between 25th Street and 28th Street, has expanded north to 31st Street. NoMad Piazza came into existence earlier in the summer when Mayor de Blasio and the Department of Transportation launched its Open Streets program to allow for greater social distancing across New York City.
The Open Streets program on Broadway—managed by the Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership—was among the first in the city and includes NoMad Piazza. The expansion to 31st Street comes as a result of the initiative’s success in facilitating pedestrian traffic and outdoor dining.
Food establishments on Broadway from 25th to 26th Street, including La Pecora Bianca, wagamama, and Num Pang, recently extended their Open Streets: Restaurants hours with outdoor dining from 12pm to 11pm daily. Broadway from 26th Street uptown to 31st Street operates an Open Street with curbside dining from 10am to 6pm with extended hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through October.
