The NFL Experience in Times Square is Paradise for Football Fans

Embracing a family-friendly atmosphere, the NFL Experience in Times Square provides 'all the fun without getting tackled'

NEW YORK, NY – If you’ve ever dreamed what it would be like to be a football player on the biggest stage, the NFL Experience in Times Square helps make that fantasy a reality – and you won’t have to worry about getting blindsided by a 300-pound lineman.

The football journey begins with an interactive exhibit that provides a comprehensive overview of team traditions, facts and video highlights of defining moments in the history of each franchise. Game-used memorabilia and other team paraphernalia is adorned throughout the exhibit to provide fans a closer experience to the game.

After you’ve been acclimated to the culture of your favorite franchise and their rivals, you’ll hit the gridiron by way of the NFL Experience’s 180-seat state-of-the-art 4D stadium theater that offers a wide range of special effects to stimulate your mind. The motion seats and vibrations help recreate the movement of plays and makes you feel as if you’re the one trying to elude the defender.

“This is about celebrating the fan and creating an atmosphere and environment that embodies the fun that people have with the game,” explained Michael Williams, president of the NFL Experience in Times Square. “We strive to make sure that we connect with people prior to and during the event so that they have the ability to have a good time and create a lasting memory of the NFL Experience in Times Square.”

Throughout the venue fans have the opportunity to test their skills as a player from the vertical leap to the blocking drill and a quarterback challenge while throwing passes to a receiver on their favorite team. Additionally, there is a station where they can learn the nuances of learning an NFL play and implementing it in practice.

The experience at the venue ends as does the NFL season with a Super Bowl celebration and an up-close-and-personal look at the Vince Lombardi Trophy as well as the championship rings dating back to the first one in 1967.

“We want to bring them in as a fan and usher them out as a player,” Williams suggested.

Located in the heart of New York City at the corner of 47th St. and 8th Ave. where some 50 million people flock to annually, the NFL Experience in Times Square is the prime location for a sport that is on the verge of mass globalization. The NFL’s London series has expanded to three games and will showcase the reigning Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles next season at Wembley Stadium.

“I have nothing but tremendous appreciation and excitement of where we’re going to be able to take this moving forward,” Williams suggested. “When you stop and think about the exposure that the NFL has in place with the games over in London, we have more and more folks from all parts of the world.”

“The way media is driven now; the world truly is becoming a much smaller place,” he added. “I think we’ll have more of an international draw with these folks moving forward.”

Starting later this month, the NFL Experience is hosting its Summer Kickoff in which there will be a four-week period where there will be a new features and happenings each day. The venue has become a popular destination for corporate events and birthday parties, according to Williams. And the NFL Experience has ambitious expectations for fantasy football events for the upcoming season.

This weekend, the NFL Experience has a special promotion for Father’s Day where they can purchase a $25 ticket and receive a retail item valued at $10. Tickets can be purchased at www.nflexperience.com.
