NYC Daylight Saving 2022: Time For Clocks To Spring Forward
Your semi-annual tradition of forgetting how to set your microwave's clock returns.
NEW YORK CITY — Let's dispense with the bad news first — sorry, Patch can't help you reset your microwave clock.
But biannual clock confusion is a tiny price to pay for daylight saving time, at least in the spring.
Clocks will "spring forward" — meaning go ahead one hour from standard time — starting Sunday, March 13 at 2 a.m. That means later sunsets and longer-seeming days full of natural daylight.

The actual process of daylight saving time is less of a hassle with smartphones and many other electronics automatically setting their clocks. But some items — microwaves, ovens, older watches — still require manual adjustment.

Americans by a 63 percent to 16 percent margin favoring ditching daylight saving time altogether, according to a recent Economic/YouGov poll.
But still, New York is among the 48 states that observe daylight saving time. Hawaii and Arizona don't observe the practice, although the Navajo Nation in the Grand Canyon State does.
