NYC Extends Alternate Side Parking Suspension Through Tuesday

Officials have called on New Yorkers to clear snow from their vehicles as temperatures will begin to rise in the city later this week.

NEW YORK CITY — Alternate side parking suspension in New York City has been extended through Tuesday as the city continues to clean its streets and remove snow left from the late January winter storm.

The suspension has been extended a couple of times since the storm, alternate side parking was initially supposed to be in effect on Sunday, Feb. 8.

Parking meter rules will remain in effect during the suspension, according to the city's Department of Transportation.

When alternate side parking is suspended, drivers are still required to observe all other posted parking restrictions and regulations, according to the DOT.

Alternate side parking will also be suspended on Thursday, Feb. 12, for Lincoln’s birthday and next week for President's Day, Feb. 16, Lunar New Year, Feb. 17 and Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18.
