The heat is officially on, New York... and her name is Kendra Erika.

Longtime LGBTQ+ ally and Billboard dance chart dominator Kendra Erika is back with a fierce new single, “Dance in the Fire”, and it’s primed to be the soundtrack of summer 2025. Fueled by primal energy, cinematic flair, and an unstoppable beat, the track dropped just in time for Pride, rooftop ragers, and late-night spins across NYC’s hottest clubs.

Her first release with Empire Distribution, a label that has built its reputation on being a home for genre-shaking talent, “Dance in the Fire” was crafted alongside two-time Grammy-nominated producer Luigie “LUGO” Gonzalez and 2024 Grammy winner Will Gittens (of Chris Brown’s “Tell Me Whooo” fame). The result? A high-octane, dance-pop anthem with a global heartbeat and a powerful message: face the flames of life, and dance anyway.

“Whatever the circumstances in the world may be, it’s always important to take the survivor route,” Kendra explains. “This song is meant to ignite a fire within everyone.”

NYC knows a survivor when it sees one, and Erika’s journey fits right in with the city’s unbreakable spirit. Her voice is familiar to dancefloor regulars. She’s scored five Billboard Top Ten dance hits, including her reinvention of Laura Branigan’s “Self Control,” which outpaced the original and ruled clubs from Hell’s Kitchen to the Hamptons.

Now, with “Dance in the Fire,” Erika raises the stakes. The music video is pure spectacle: think Game of Thrones meets Dune in the desert, with Kendra channeling ancient warrior goddess energy and rising through literal flames. It’s the kind of visual storytelling New Yorkers crave—dramatic, bold, and made to be remembered.

A staple at Pride events nationwide, Erika’s connection to the LGBTQ+ community runs deep.

“There’s a mutual respect in that I’ve never bowed to industry constructs,” she says. “I celebrate going against the grain, just as the LGBTQ+ community does.” Her authenticity, both on and off stage, is what makes her not just an artist, but an ally we feel.

So whether you're voguing under disco balls in Bushwick, strutting down Christopher Street, or catching a golden hour vibe on a Pier 57 rooftop, Dance in the Fire” belongs on your playlist.

Because in New York, we don’t run from the fire—we dance in it.
