NYC Temps Will Drop By Good Friday, Forecasters Say

NEW YORK CITY — Enjoy the warm, sunny weather while it lasts, New York City.

Rain later this week will wash away spring-high temperatures and set them plunging to a frigid-feeling 43-degree high on Good Friday, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Meteorologists are tracking a strong cold front heading east from the central U.S., a National Weather Service forecast states.

New York City looks to be spared the severe weather and snow predicted for other East Coast areas, but don't expect to enjoy being outdoors.

Wednesday has an 80 percent chance of precipitation, with up to an inch of rain predicted, according to the forecast. Showers are also likely Thursday, when high temperatures will drop to 44 degrees.

The skies will clear on Good Friday but temperatures will remain cold, with lows hovering just above freezing, according to the forecast.

But the chill won't last. Temperatures will rise over Saturday and reach back up to 61 degrees on Sunday for Easter and the end of Passover.
