NYC Temps Will Near 80 Degrees For 2 Days

NEW YORK CITY — Summer is officially over, but not warm weather in New York City.

High temperatures will reach near 80 degrees Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

But those days' mostly sunny skies with highs of 78 degrees won't last over the weekend. Saturday carries a strong chance of showers and thunderstorms, forecasters say.

"Chance of precipitation is 80%," the forecast states. "New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms."

Saturday's high temperature is predicted to be 76 degrees, but by Sunday it will drop to 65 degrees, according to the forecast.

So, summer-loving New Yorkers might want to take advantage of the next two days — it could be a brutal winter ahead, at least according to the Farmers' Almanac.
