NYC Transit Service Changes You Should Know For Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Here's what you need to know to get around the city if you're staying home for the holiday.
NEW YORK CITY — New Yorkers planning to be in town for Martin Luther King Jr. Day will have to adjust their commute as the MTA plans to modify subway, railroad and bus services.
On Monday, January 19, all subway lines will run on a Saturday schedule. In Manhattan, overnight downtown local A trains will skip all stations between 125th St. and 59th St-Columbus Circle. Uptown local A trains will skip Spring St., 23rd St., and 50th St.
Both downtown and uptown local C trains will have no overnight service. Uptown E trains will skip Spring St and 23 St., according to the MTA.

In Brooklyn, there will be no B train service and Manhattan-bound D trains will skip all stations between 36th St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Center including DeKalb Av overnight.
The J line will run modified service on Jan. 19 and there will be no Z train service.

For more service information on specific train lines for the holiday check the MTA website or app.
Buses will run on a modified weekday service. Some express buses will be placed on special schedules.
For Metro-North Railroad, the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines will run on a Saturday schedule. There will be additional trains for rush hour.
On the Port Jervis Line, Metro-North will run on a weekend service with three additional trains.
On the Long Island Rail Road, trains will operate on a regular weekday schedule with off-peak fares in effect all day.
