NYC Weather Forecast: Hazardous Outlook Issued For Coming Storm

NEW YORK, NY — Say goodbye to the good weather and go get your galoshes. A storm approaching New York City will bring strong winds, rain and thunder, to New York City on Wednesday, the latest National Weather Service forecast shows.

The weather service issued a hazardous weather outlook warning Wednesday morning of "an approaching cold front this evening into tonight could produce strong wind gusts.”

There's also a chance of thunder storms from 2 p.m. until late Wednesday evening.

The storm will be the roughest day of a sunny and warm stretch that's expected to last through the weekend, the NWS forecast shows.

Temperatures will climb into the mid-80s on Thursday and stay in that range for the rest of the week.

Monday will be warmer, with a high of about 88, as another possible thunderstorm approaches, the forecast says.

Wednesday
Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. High near 79. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 66. Southwest wind around 9 mph.

Thursday
Sunny, with a high near 82. West wind 11 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Thursday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 63. Northwest wind 15 to 18 mph.

Friday
Sunny, with a high near 80. Northwest wind 11 to 16 mph.

Mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Sunny, with a high near 83.
