NYC Weather: Hazardous Winds, Rain Follow Wild Night Of Storms
A tornado watch was issued for the city early Monday, though one didn't materialize.

NEW YORK — Rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are all in the mix Monday for New York City.
Rain and winds up to 34 mph batter New York City early morning, with remnants possible up to 9 a.m.,the National Weather Service says.
It follows a wild night of storms in which even an tornado watch was issued for the city, though it didn't materialize.

Then a wind advisory will go into effect starting from noon Monday through 2 a.m. Tuesday, with the forecaster predicting winds as strong as 45 mph. Strong winds could make driving difficult, and the weather service warns.
The city could see as much as a quarter of an inch of rain Monday, with a temperature of about 53 degrees lasting most of the day, the weather service says.

Windy, with a light and variable wind becoming west 29 to 34 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 42. Windy, with a northwest wind 23 to 32 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph.

Sunny, with a high near 61. West wind 16 to 18 mph.
