NYC Weather: Here's When Snow Will Hit The City Tuesday

What New Yorkers need to know about the wintry mix that will continue throughout the day.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK — The winter storm headed into the city Tuesday might not have been enough to give kids a snow day, but it could still create messy travel conditions for the day's commutes. Here's what you need to know throughout the day.

New York City is expected to get two to four inches of snow by the end of the day, with most of the wintry mix of snow, freezing rain and sleet likely to hit late morning, according to National Weather Service predictions. About 2.4 inches of snow are expected to fall before 2 p.m., followed by steady rainfall into Wednesday morning.

Temperatures will start to rise in the afternoon, but wind gusts as fast as 33mph later in the day might keep it feeling cold.
