NYC Weather: Highs Will Crack 70 This Week, But Rain Isn't Far Behind

NEW YORK CITY — Expect spring weather to hit New York City in all its warm and wet glory this week.

Highs will crack 70 degrees Tuesday, after a nice helping of morning April showers, according to the National Weather Service.

"Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 73," Tuesday's forecast states.

Warm weather will stay in the forecast for days, with highs consistently staying above 60 degrees, meteorologists predict.

Wednesday's highs will reach 63 degrees, while Thursday's will reach 70 degrees again, according to the forecast.

But Thursday's wave of pleasant temperatures could also wash in an unpleasant blast of rain.

"A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm," Thursday's forecast states.
