NYC Weather: As Much As 4 Inches Of Snow Now Expected

The National Weather Service warned of hazardous, slippery road conditions during the evening commute.

NEW YORK — Two to four inches of snow is expected Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service said. A light glaze of ice is expected as well, according to the weather service.

The weather service warned of slippery, hazardous road conditions that will impact Wednesday evening's commute.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 12 p.m. Wednesday until 1 a.m. Thursday, according to forecasters.

Late Wednesday, the snow is expected to turn into a wintry mix.

Here is what the rest of the week looks like:

Wednesday:

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 12 p.m. until 1 a.m. Thursday. Two to four inches of snow is expected, mainly after 2 p.m. High near 30 with wind chill values 20 to 25. Northeast winds around 7 mph becomes southeast this afternoon. 80 percent chance of precipitation.

Wednesday night:

Rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet are expected. Rain after 1 a.m. Temperature rising to 35 by 1 a.m. Wind chill values between 20 and 205. East wind around 8 mph becomes northeast after midnight. 100 percent chance of precipitation. Little to no additional ice accumulation expected, but one to two inches of new snow and sleet is possible.

Thursday:

30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 8 a.m. Cloudy at first, and then expected to become sunnier with a high near 51. Wind chill values between 30 and 40. West wind 7 to 11 mph.

Thursday night:

Partly cloudy with a low around 35. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph.

Friday:

Mostly sunny with a high near 45. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph.

Friday night:

Partly cloudy with a low around 34.
