NYC Weather: Spring High Temps Buffeted By Wind Advisory
Temperatures will reach 73 degrees Friday and wind gusts could reach 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
NEW YORK CITY — Wind gusts of up to 50 mph likely will blow away what could have been a pleasant spring day in New York City on Friday.
A high of 73 degrees is predicted for the city, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.
But any New Yorkers should weigh down their picnic blankets — a wind advisory is in effect starting at 2 p.m. and going through the day and night until midnight.

"West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected," the advisory states.
People might also want to pack ponchos as showers are predicted before 1 p.m. Rain is predicted for much of this weekend, especially on Sunday which has an 80 percent chance of precipitation.

A 50 percent chance of showers, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Breezy, with a southwest wind 16 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph.

Mostly clear, with a low around 48. Breezy, with a west wind 14 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph.
Saturday
Sunny, with a high near 64. West wind 9 to 11 mph.
Saturday Night
A 20 percent chance of showers after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 50. Southeast wind 7 to 9 mph.
Sunday
Showers, mainly after 9am. High near 62. Southeast wind 13 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Sunday Night
A 40 percent chance of showers before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41.
